Children's aid societies are one of the sectors subject to this act. Tikinagan Child and Family Services is designated as a children's aid society under the Child and Family Services Act.

Two directives issued by the Management Board of Cabinet under the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act are:

  1. The Broader Public Sector Procurement Directive, which sets out procurement rules for the purchase of goods and services through a process that is fair, open and transparent;
  2. The Broader Public Sector Expenses Directive, which sets out the requirement to establish expense rules, where expenses are reimbursed from public funds, based on principles of accountability, transparency, value for money, and fairness. Tikinagan Child and Family Services is required to implement these directives.
