It's time again for the Mamow Oshki Pimagihowin Prevention Program Golf Tournament in Sioux Lookout! The day-long, 18-hole tournament will be on Friday, September 2 and includes dinner, a silent auction and lots of prizes!

Honouring our committed employees

On May 26, Tikinagan was proud honour our long-time staff who have been with us for more than 15 years. This year, we filled the Forest Inn Rainforest Room with about 30 employees who enjoyed a luncheon followed by presentations of gifts for each employee.

Tikinagan Child and Family Services participated in a career fair in Eabametoong First Nation on Thursday, May 19. The career fair is an annual event located at the John C. Yesno Education Centre in the community. Approximately 300 students and community members attended.

Lac Seul First Nation held its annual Career Fair this week on April 20 and 21. Tikinagan Child and Family Services was excited to participate and had a booth at the event. Children and youth from the community attended the fair, as well as adults and job hunters from the community.

Celebrating successful graduates at Tikinagan

Over the last two years, a group of Tikinagan employees have worked hard to complete a certificate program entitled Chemical Addictions Worker. The program was a first-time partnership with Tikinagan and Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT) out of British Columbia.

Welcoming arrival for walkers

Tikinagan Child and Family Services greeted nine-year-old Gordon Slipperjack, his family and supporters, in Sioux Lookout on Tuesday, March 29. Gordon and his family left Thunder Bay on March 7. The purpose of his walk, entitled Spiritual Journey for the Innocent, was to honour the memory of his brother, Leonidis Uriah Cole Slipperjack, and all the babies that didn’t make it home from both foster care and residential school.
